The New Zealand Tourism Research Institute (NZTRI), based at the Auckland University of Technology, brings together New Zealand and international experts in the tourism and hospitality arena. The Institute was established in 1999 by Professor Simon Milne. It is located at the Level 1 of the School of Hospitality and Tourism on the corner of Wellesley Street East and Mayoral Drive in Auckland. In 2010 the Institute brings together 19 researchers as well as 15 PhD students currently studying within the Institute, several other graduate students being linked to the Institute in more informal ways.
